Beautiful, Natural-Looking Crowns

Porcelain CrownsA dental crown is a cap or shell, designed by Dr. Warren, to partially or fully cover and strengthen a tooth. Crowns are used for various reasons such as correcting a misaligned bite or improving the appearance of a smile, or when a tooth is severely damaged or decayed. A crown can also be used on top of a dental implant to replace a missing tooth.

Dr. Warren has over 10 years of experience creating natural-looking, all-porcelain crowns. He uses a high-quality ceramic porcelain and an excellent dental lab to produce crowns with an aesthetic, lifelike appearance.

Our Durable, Highly Aesthetic Crowns

Top-quality materials for superior strength and aesthetics

Your crowns will be crafted with top-quality materials for optimum aesthetics and durability.

Dr. Warren prefers all-porcelain crowns for their exceptional beauty and enduring strength. He uses e.max® ceramic; a specialized ceramic material that has superior toughness, durability and a translucent quality that makes it ideal for dental crowns. Dr. Warren will take care to ensure that your crowns will be highly aesthetic, extremely lifelike and will blend in well with the rest of your teeth.

For a patient who clenches their teeth or who needs a long-span bridge, Dr. Warren commonly uses crowns made of a porcelain outer layer over a metal core, which provides an extra measure of strength as compared to all-porcelain restorations.

Dr. Warren occasionally provides crowns made of full gold, in certain circumstances. Full gold crowns are extremely strong and would be used toward the back of the mouth for patients who heavily grind their teeth.

Premier dental lab

We have been partnering with a top-quality dental lab in Chicago for many years due to their expertise in crafting crowns that simulate nature. Their technicians are skillful artists who consistently make aesthetic, lifelike crowns in accordance with Dr. Warren’s specifications.

Custom shading

Porcelain Crowns

Dr. Warren uses a comprehensive shade guide to make sure your crowns will blend in perfectly with the rest of your teeth.

Dr. Warren uses a special color shade guide to make sure your crowns will look completely natural. The guide we use offers about 60 different shades, making it easy to match your tooth’s natural color. Most shade guides commonly used in dental offices offer just 15 shades in an acrylic material that doesn’t accurately reflect the coloring of the finished crown. Our shade guides are made of real porcelain ceramic tabs, enabling you and Dr. Warren to see exactly what color your new crown will be when finished.

Five-year warranty

All of our crowns carry a five-year warranty. If there any problems with your crown during the five-year warranty period, you can come back to us and we will replace at no additional cost to you.

Our crowns procedure

We can usually place your crowns in just two visits. On your first visit, Dr. Warren will prepare your tooth and place a temporary crown for you to wear. He will send the specifications for your crown to the lab for manufacturing, a process that takes about two weeks. When the crown is ready, Dr. Warren will carefully check it with you for color, shape and correct fit before cementing it into place.

When Crowns Are Used

A crown can be used for a number of reasons, including:

  • To restore and protect a damaged or decayed tooth
  • To correct your bite alignment
  • To top a dental implant to replace a single tooth
  • To protect a dead tooth from fracture after a root canal has been performed
  • To cosmetically enhance your smile by correcting unsightly discoloration or misshapen teeth (veneers are also used for this purpose, but when the tooth is damaged due to fracture or decay, your doctor may recommend a crown instead)
